THE VISION of TEN Campaign is to see exceptional nursing care practiced at every hospital and clinic in South Africa. Our aim is to raise the status of the Nursing Profession by promoting a culture of honour and gratitude towards all. We hope that when nurses are truly valued in society they will respond with honour and respect to every patient.

The purpose of The Exceptional Nurse Bursary/Award is not only to honour the individual, but to raise up exceptional nursing students as role models to their peers and society as a whole.

The 4 qualities that we deem essential in the students nominated to become benefactors of The Exceptional Nurse Bursary or Award are: Competence, Compassion, Commitment, Courage.

A Matric Certificate with 60% or more, in English, Maths Literacy and Biology or Life Science.

OR

A diploma or degree from any other registered Tertiary Institution.

For the Degree and/or Diploma. Tuition fees range from R30 000 – R 38 000 per annum, depending on the individual College or University.

What is the salary potential for each nursing qualification?2018-05-11T15:48:28+02:00

Auxilliary Nurse: 1 year Certificate/Diploma.   Starting salary R35 per hour, R 6 000 per month, depending on the place of employment, and years of experience.

Enrolled Staff Nurse: 2 year Diploma.   Starting salary R50 – R60 per hour, R 9 500 per month, depending on the place of employment, and years of experience.

Professional Nurse:
4 year Diploma. Starting from R95 – R110 per hour, R 17 000 per month, depending on the place of employment and years of experience.
4 year Degree with 1 year Community Service. Starting from R95 – R110 per hour, R 18 500 per month, depending on the place of employment and years of experience.

Apply at Universities with a Health Science Faculty:  
University of the Western Cape, Cape Peninsula University of Technology, Kwazulu Natal University, Bloemfontein University, Pretoria University, University of the Witswatersrand, Nelson Mandela University.
